Overview of West African Health 2007

The 2nd West African Health Expo and Conference was held at the Expo Centre of Eko Hotel & Suites Victoria Island, Lagos between the 5th – 7th of September 2007.

It was the gathering of healthcare professionals from across the continent and beyond, building on the success of the year 2006 edition participants, visitors, exhibitors came from India, Ghana, South Africa, Britain, China etc to be part of the event.

It was a business to health expo that brought buyers and sellers of medical equipment and services together.

Congress: WAH 2007 recorded well over 2000 delegates and more than 800 stakeholders in attendance all discussing the way forward in healthcare in West Africa. Compared to West African Health 2006 there has been a 30% increase in the number of exhibitors.

There has also been 40% increase in the numbers of business and professional visitors. The event also heralds the launch of the 2nd National Health Insurance Scheme stakeholder’s forum. This event alone had more than 2000 healthcare providers in attendance.
