West African Health 2008 is an International Conference and Exhibition. ; A business-to-business event in the health sector, conceptualized as a solution driven collaborative approach that would provide innovative solutions for the West African Healthcare sector. West African Health Conference brings together stakeholders in health sector from Nigeria, other West African countries & abroad. Exclusively dedicated to healthcare professionals & investors. West African Health Exhibition 2008 will host more than 150 exhibitors from the sub-region and globally and will receive 14,000 visitors including Manufacturers, Wholesalers, Major Buyers, Distributors, Importers, Directors and CEO’s of Hospitals.
The year 2007 was extremely successfull. A 3 day event held from September,5-7th in Lagos, Nigeria. It was said to be the largest medical and health conference & exhibition in the sub-region with participants from within and outside the health sector. It recorded well over 11,000 visitors from across Nigeria, Ghana, United State, china,India,france,germany,brazil and more than 25 speakers and 84 exhibitors locally and internationally.
WAH plays a key facilitating role in the provision of health services and technology in the west african region by bringing together leading international manufacturers & suppliers to cater to health needs, and has resolved into a powerful industry forum to address the medical need of the region.

Why Nigeria?
The West African state of Nigeria has a population of about 150 million and is the most populous black nation in the world. It also serves as a hub for other West African countries. The healthcare sector has emerged as one of the largest service sectors in the country. The healthcare spending of the country has a growth rate of between 7% - 9%, if a current development strategy in the sector is sustained.
Nigeria remains a major destination for global exports of healthcare products and services, particularly diagnostic equipments. The size of Nigeria’s medical equipment market is estimated to be over a billion dollars. Nigeria holds a great promise for the rest of Africa both for trade and humanitarian services. |
